Vantage擴展亞太版圖 將在臺北建置16兆瓦(MW)節能資料中心
網路資料中心(IDC, Internet Data Center)是光纖網路集中交會點以及海纜陸纜樞紐，自從網際網路萌芽到近年人工智慧及雲端運算等新興科技技術迅速發展，全球對於資料中心需求日益倍增。臺灣身處亞太區域關鍵地理位置，包括亞太區國際海纜登陸交換、國內陸纜交換皆須仰賴資料中心運作，因應亞太區資料中心需求急速成長，國際大型科技巨頭如Google、微軟及亞馬遜紛紛於臺灣建置啟用資料中心。
本(12)月初，總部位於美國之資料中心數據供應商Vantage Data Centers(Vantage)宣布擴展其亞太區域版圖，將在臺北建置新的資料數據中心TPE1，規劃於2024年中啟用。五層樓的TPE1總樓面積約6,000坪（20,000 平方米），配合Vantage「永續設計」理念，採用節能之電力使用效率(PUE, Power Usage Effectiveness)運營，並以最新冷卻技術使用水效率(WUE, Water Utilization Efficiency)趨近於零的補水量。
TPE1規劃將有16兆瓦的IT負載電量，由臺灣電力公司(Taipower, Taiwan Power Company)供應設施用電，所有關鍵系統設置額外備援，確保資料安全性及緊急運作能量。TPE1提供客戶多種光纖通道及3個入口點(POEs, points-of-entry)，且確保每一客戶擁有至少2條路徑，讓客戶靈活管理自身網路。
Vantage Data Centers是全球前20大規模的資料中心供應商，在北美、歐洲、中東、非洲和亞太五大洲開發及營運資料中心園區，以創新永續方式強化資料中心設計，為其客戶提供可靠、有效率且永續的服務，待Vantage的TPE1資料中心建置完成並啟用後，將對北臺灣企業之IDC需求帶來新供給。
由於臺北龐大的數位網路系統及身處海底電纜交會處，是臺灣及亞太區域數位網路重鎮，因此Vantage選擇臺北作為其亞太區第8個資料中心園區。Vantage資料中心亞太區總裁Raymond Tong表示：「隨著整個亞太區需求持續飆升，特別是人工智慧等現代技術的發展，臺北是亞洲的理想地點。我們將繼續建設臺灣的數位中心，並持續為市場及技術成長做出貢獻。Vantage全力支持政府永續能源的政策，我們致力於在2030年實現在全球據點達到淨零碳排放。」
